Sunday’s second birthday

I can’t believe it’s already been two months since Sunday’s birthday… it’s weird to look at her pictures and realize she’s changed in just two months. I figured I should probably try to blog and preserve what she was like at 2 years old before my mom-brain forgets it completely.

The night before Sunday’s birthday, Tanner and I stayed up till midnight finishing up her birthday present. We built Sunday a special little play corner in our yard, complete with a play house. This has been THE project of the summer, so I’ll probably dedicate an entire blog post to it…but we wanted at least the house to be painted and in place on the morning of her birthday. We got everything into place just in time.

She woke up that morning and after her typical eat a banana-drink a bottle while snuggling routine, she wandered over to the back door. I wish I was videoing it because it was exactly as I imagined. She wandered over to the door whining “outsiiiiiide, outsiiiiide, outsiiiiide”…and then when she saw her play house she yelled “A HOUSE!”…and then we let her outside to go see her present!

(I have to add Tanner and I have been torturing her and every time we see a playhouse at Costco or Toys R Us, we let her play in it and then we tell her if she’s good maybe someday she can have her own house…She’s always so sad to leave the little houses  so we knew ahead of time she was going to love her house haha)

^^Of course she gravitated to the phone and insisted on calling “Shannon and baby Hunter” first thing haha

I’m happy to report that 2 months later, she still loves her little house!

That day we also went boating with Grandma and Grandpa Sherwood. In typical two-year-old fashion she refused to smile for a picture haha. But Sunday had fun playing on the beach…despite her face in this picture.

We ended the day at our house ordering pizza and me crying looking at pictures of newborn Sunday haha. Just kidding, I came down with a nasty cold that day and went to bed early, so I didn’t get to reminisce and mourn my baby growing up until a few days later. Happy Birthday baby girl! Thanks for making me laugh out loud every single day this past year! You are my little ray of sunshine.

But just for the fun of it…here have been some of the highlights of Sunday’s 2nd trip around the sun:

Moved into our (her) first house, Sunday got a sister!, Halloween, Sunday at 1.5, Christmas, and Easter
